In general
Detuning reactors eliminate influence of harmonic frequencies on systems for power factor correction. We produce filter reactors for capacitors from 5 to 75  kvar, 440, 525 V with detuning factor 7 or 14 %.

Construction
Supplied reactors meet modern standards and are characterized by quality and capable construction. They are designed for usage in choked power factor correction systems equipped with electromechanical and/or fast switching devices.

Safety
Safety during operation is ensured by several means like: Dimension of inner wires for temperature class F.
Insulation strength to 135  °C.
Temperature switch.
Connection of capacitors to network is easy by means of integrated terminals or flat connecting flags..

Description

Filter reactors VINDEX match modern standards a are designed for usage in power factor correction and improvement installations, first of all like protection of capacitors in networks with appearance of harmonic frequencies.

Safety of filter reactor in use is guaranteed by its construction, e.g. dimension of inner wires , insulation strength and integrated temperature sensors with NC contact adjustable for range 110 to 140  °C (upon request).

Filter reactors VINDEX are suitable to low voltage networks for protection of capacitors against harmonic influence, preventing any amplification of harmonics caused by resonance and and dumping of inrush currents caused by switching.

  • Design  —  iron core made from transformer sheets, copper winding impregnated with PES.
  • Connection  —  terminal block RSA, for outputs 35 kvar and more flat connecting flags 20x5 mm for M8 screws.
  • Choke degree  —  detuning factor 7 % or 14 % (other upon request)
  • Available outputs  —  for capacitor stages up to 75  kvar 440 or 525  V.
  • Tolerance  —  max 3  % from rated inductance.
  • Dissipation losses  —  approximately 4 to 6  W for 1  kvar.
  • Safety  —  integrated temperature switch.

Construction

Filter reactors VINDEX are of capable construction, with iron core double air gap and copper coil winding impregnated with polyester resin (class F).

Standard product range is designed for resonance frequency 189 Hz (p=7%, 4th dominant harmonic) and capacitors with rated voltage 440  V or for 134 Hz (p=14  %) and 525 V capacitors. The dissipation losses rank between 4 and 6 W/kvar of installed reactive power. We guarantee tolerance of inductance max ±3% from rated inductance as mentioned on type plate of each reactor.

There is an integrated thermal NC switch inside central coil, which can be set to be opened within temperatures from 110 to 140  °C (this feature allows external monitoring or disconnection of the reactor.

Up to 30 kvar reactors are provided with terminal blocks, from 30 kvar with copper connecting flags 20x5 mm for M8 screws.

 

Operating conditions

Standard reactors VINDEX can be operated:

  • With power capacitors rated voltage UC 440 or 525 V,
  • With detuning factor 7 or 14 % (resonance frequency 189 or 134 Hz),
  • Allowed harmonic overcurrent 10 % (Ieff=1,1xIN), according to EN 50160,

Maximum current linearity, when inductance doe not decrease by more then 5 % is 1,6 to 2,5 multiple of rated reactor current.

Exceeding of required parameters will lead to overheating and thermal destruction of reactor.

Ambient operating conditions

Filter reactors VINDEX shall be installed in rooms with ambient temperature from -5 to 40  °C.

Permissible daily average temperature must not exceed 35  °C.

Under these conditions the temperature of reactor does not exceed 110  °C. Materials used for reactor production insulation strength min. to 135  °C (class B).

Reactors VINDEX are designed for indoor mounting, degree of protection IP00, permissible humidity max 95 % without dew, natural or forced cooling.
